Members of the Morristown Fire & Rescue Company, the Morristown Ladies Aux., neighboring fire departments, Prescott Fire Dept and invited guests crowded into the Morristown Fire Station for the 2008 awards banquet.  The 290 people enjoyed a great meal and good entertainment into the early morning hours.  Some highlights of the show was the 2008 Fire Fighter of the Year.  This years award went to 2nd Asst Chief Dean Hoffman, in part for the unending devotion to the department and also for his part for not only saving his life but saving the life of a fellow fire fighter who were caught in a flashover at a structure fire while on the second floor of the building.  Dean not only kept his cool and his whitts but found a window where both fire fighters exited the building head first to the safety of the first floor roof.  Pat Barse received the 2008 Chiefs Award.  The Morristown Ladies Aux. donated $3,000 in new flooring for the upstairs meeting room.
